IPTV in Germany 2026: Channels, Prices, Legality & Best Setup
IPTV in Germany explained for 2026: Sky Sport Bundesliga, DAZN and 350+ German channels, prices in euros, Fire TV and MagentaTV setup, SEPA payment, and how German law treats it.

German viewers pay less for TV than the British or Canadians, but the sports rights are just as scattered. Sky Sport holds most of the Bundesliga, DAZN has the Friday and Sunday games plus the Champions League, MagentaSport has the 3. Liga and ice hockey, and Sport1 and the public broadcasters fill in around them. Following one club across a season means at least two subscriptions. IPTV brings those channels together with the public and private networks in one app. This guide covers what IPTV in Germany includes in 2026, what it costs in euros, how to set it up on the devices German households use, and what the legal position is.
The German channel line-up
The IPTV-6 Germany package contains roughly 350 German-language channels within the 25,000+ channel library, including Austrian and Swiss broadcasters.
Public and private networks
Das Erste, ZDF, RTL, Sat.1, ProSieben, VOX, RTL II, Kabel Eins, ZDFneo, One, Sixx and Sky One are all present in HD. That last point matters: the private networks charge for HD on satellite and cable via HD+, and IPTV removes that extra fee.
Regional and German-language
The regional third programmes (BR, WDR, NDR, MDR, SWR, HR, RBB) are included, so Tagesschau regional bulletins and local programming work wherever you live. ORF from Austria and SRF from Switzerland are in the same group, which is useful for the ORF Formula 1 and ski coverage.
Sports
| Channel | What it carries |
|---|---|
| Sky Sport Bundesliga 1–10 | Saturday and Sunday Bundesliga, Konferenz, 2. Bundesliga |
| Sky Sport 1–2 | DFB-Pokal, Premier League, tennis, golf |

Best devices for IPTV in Germany
Fire TV Stick
The Fire TV Stick is the most popular IPTV device in Germany, costs around €40 and runs IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate and XCIPTV. The Fire TV Stick guide walks through the Downloader method.
Smart TVs (Samsung and LG)
Samsung and LG sets are the majority of German living rooms, and both have IPTV Smarters Pro and similar apps in their stores, so no extra hardware is needed. See the Smart TV guide.
Android TV and Apple TV
Sony, Philips and TCL sets on Android TV or Google TV run TiviMate from the Play Store, as does the Nvidia Shield. Apple TV 4K users can install IPTV Smarters Pro or GSE Smart IPTV from the App Store. See the Android guide and the iOS guide.
MagentaTV box
The MagentaTV One runs Android TV, so it can install IPTV apps from the Play Store. Older MagentaTV receivers (Media Receiver 401, 601) are closed and cannot run third-party apps; pair them with a Fire TV Stick on another HDMI port.
Legality in Germany
IPTV as a technology is legal in Germany. MagentaTV, waipu.tv, Zattoo and the broadcasters' own Mediathek apps all deliver television over IP. The legal question is content: a distributor needs the rights to the channels it streams.
German law is strict on this and enforcement has increased. Rights holders, including Sky and the DFL, have obtained court-ordered blocking of unauthorised streaming domains, and the Clearingstelle Urheberrecht im Internet (CUII) coordinates blocking between rights holders and ISPs. Enforcement is aimed at operators and sellers, but there have also been cases involving end users of clearly unlawful services, so the responsible approach is:
- Choose a provider that is transparent about its service, offers a trial and has responsive support.
- Avoid "lifetime" plans, gift-card payments and anonymous sellers.
- Check the current position, or seek advice, if you are unsure how the rules apply to you.
IPTV-6 does not claim to hold German broadcast rights; what we provide is a stable, well-supported service and honest information. Is IPTV legal? covers Germany alongside the other markets in more detail.
German-language support
Support is available in German and English from 08:00 to midnight MEZ, seven days a week, by live chat and email. The questions German subscribers ask most often:
- The EPG is one hour off. Set the time zone to Europe/Berlin in your app; the shift usually appears after the clock change.
- Which channel carries which Bundesliga game? Sky Sport Bundesliga 1 is the Konferenz on Saturday; individual games are on 2 to 10; DAZN 1 has Friday and Sunday. The Bundesliga guide has the full map.
- Can I switch to the original audio track? On VOD, yes: most films and series carry both German and original audio and you switch in the player.
The status page shows live server health and the FAQ covers the rest.
Ten-minute setup
- Start the 24-hour trial from the Germany page.
- Find your Xtream Codes details in the welcome email.
- Install a player using the relevant install guide.
- Log in with Xtream Codes so the EPG and VOD load.
- Set the time zone to Europe/Berlin.
- Add Das Erste, ZDF, RTL, Sky Sport Bundesliga 1 and DAZN 1 to favourites.
- Test at 15:30 on Saturday, then pick a plan.
