From the Fire TV home screen go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options. If you don't see "Developer options", open My Fire TV → About, highlight the first line ("Fire TV Stick") and press the select button 7 times until a message says "You are now a developer". Then go back into Developer options and set Apps from Unknown Sources to ON. On newer Fire OS versions this is called Install unknown apps; we will switch it on for Downloader in step 3.
Go back to the home screen, select Find → Search and type "Downloader". Select the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews and press Get or Download. It is free and takes a few seconds to install. If you use an Alexa remote you can also hold the microphone button and say "Downloader".
Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps, select Downloader and switch it to ON. When you first open Downloader it will also ask for permission to access photos, media and files on your device: choose Allow. Without these two permissions the APK will download but the install screen will not appear.
Open Downloader. In the URL box at the top of the Home tab type the official IPTV Smarters Pro APK link (the Android TV / Fire TV build from the IPTV Smarters website) and press Go. Downloader fetches the APK file, then the Fire TV install dialog opens automatically. Press Install, wait for "App installed" and then press Done. Downloader will offer to delete the APK to free up space: choose Delete and confirm.
Find IPTV Smarters Pro under Your Apps & Channels (press and hold the home button on the remote and select Apps). Open it, accept the terms of use and on the welcome screen choose Login with Xtream Codes API. This is the recommended login because it loads the channel list, VOD library and EPG guide in one go.
Fill in the four fields with the details from your IPTV-6 welcome email:

The app downloads your channel list, which takes 10 to 30 seconds the first time. On the main screen select Live TV to browse channel groups by country or category, Movies and Series for the VOD library and EPG for the TV guide. The guide loads automatically with Xtream Codes; if it is empty go to Settings → EPG and select Update EPG. Press the play/pause button on the remote to see the mini guide while watching a channel. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and make sure Downloader is switched ON. On older Fire OS versions the option is called Apps from Unknown Sources. Then open Downloader again and retry the download.
Check the server URL character by character: it must start with http:// and include the port if your email shows one. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive and must not contain spaces at the end. If it still fails, check our status page for maintenance and then contact support from your account.
Run a speed test on the Fire TV Stick (Settings → My Fire TV → About → Network). You need at least 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Move the Stick closer to the router, switch to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band or use an Ethernet adapter. Also clear the app cache under Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications. In IPTV Smarters Pro open Settings → EPG and press Update EPG, then check the time zone under Settings → General. Xtream Codes logins pull the guide automatically; with an M3U playlist you need to add the EPG URL from your welcome email. Details: IPTV EPG not working.
Uninstall apps you no longer use, disable data monitoring and turn off video autoplay under Settings → Preferences → Featured Content. A Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max has more RAM and handles 4K IPTV streams noticeably better than the Lite model.
Check that you typed the link exactly, including any capital letters. Use the on-screen keyboard's "?123" key for slashes and colons. If the link is correct but still fails, your router may be blocking the download; retry after a router restart or over a phone hotspot.
