In this guide you will install an IPTV player on Windows 10 or 11, sign in with your IPTV-6 Xtream Codes details or M3U URL and load the EPG guide. It takes about 3 minutes. The same steps work on a desktop PC, a laptop or a Surface tablet.

We recommend IPTV Smarters Pro from the Microsoft Store: it is free, has a proper TV interface with Live TV, Movies, Series and EPG, and supports Xtream Codes so everything loads in one step. If you just want to play channels quickly, VLC Media Player can open your M3U URL directly, with no account and no extra app; you lose the guide and VOD sections but it works on any Windows version. MyIPTV Player from the Microsoft Store is a lightweight third option with EPG support. Read our full article on IPTV on Windows PC for a comparison.

Step-by-step

  1. 1Install IPTV Smarters Pro from the Microsoft Store

Open the Microsoft Store from the Start menu, type "IPTV Smarters Pro" in the search box and select the app published by the IPTV Smarters developer. Click Get or Install. If the Store is not available on your PC, download the Windows installer from the official IPTV Smarters website and run it; Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm with More info โ†’ Run anyway.

  2. 2Log in with Xtream Codes

Open IPTV Smarters Pro, accept the terms and click Login with Xtream Codes API. Fill in the fields with the details from your IPTV-6 welcome email:

    • Any Name: IPTV-6
    • Username: your_username
    • Password: your_password
    • http://url-here.com:port: http://your-server-url (include the port if your email shows one)

Click ADD USER. The channel list, VOD library and EPG load in 10 to 30 seconds.

  3. 3Alternative: load the M3U playlist in IPTV Smarters Pro

On the welcome screen click Load Your Playlist or File/URL, choose M3U URL, type a name and paste the M3U link from your email with Ctrl+V. After the playlist loads, open Settings โ†’ EPG and paste the EPG URL from the same email so the guide is filled in. Not sure which login to use? Read M3U vs Xtream Codes.

  4. 4Option 2: play your M3U playlist with VLC

Download VLC from the official VideoLAN website and install it. Open VLC and go to Media โ†’ Open Network Stream (or press Ctrl+N). Paste your M3U URL into the Please enter a network URL box and click Play. VLC starts playing the first channel. Press Ctrl+L or go to View โ†’ Playlist to see the full channel list, and use the search box at the top of the playlist to find a channel by name.

  5. 5Tune VLC for smooth IPTV playback

Go to Tools โ†’ Preferences, select Show settings: All at the bottom left, open Input / Codecs and raise Network caching (ms) to 3000. Click Save and restart VLC. If channels stutter on an older PC, enable hardware decoding under Input / Codecs โ†’ Hardware-accelerated decoding โ†’ Automatic. To keep the playlist, use Media โ†’ Save Playlist to File so you can reopen it without pasting the link.

  6. 6Option 3: MyIPTV Player with EPG

Install MyIPTV Player from the Microsoft Store, open it and go to Settings โ†’ Add new playlist and EPG source. Enter a name, paste your M3U URL under Remote channel list and the EPG URL under EPG source, then click Add. Return to the home screen, select the playlist and press Refresh to load the channels with the programme guide.

  7. 7Watch on your TV from the PC

Connect the PC to a TV with an HDMI cable, or press Windows + K to cast to a Miracast-compatible TV. Put IPTV Smarters Pro in full screen with the expand icon, or press F in VLC. For 4K channels make sure the PC is connected by Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi; our buffering guide lists the settings that matter.

Troubleshooting

IPTV Smarters Pro shows "Invalid details" when logging in

Check that the server URL starts with http:// and includes the port if your email shows one. Copy the username and password from the email instead of retyping them and make sure no space was copied at the end. If it still fails, check the status page for maintenance.

VLC shows "Your input can't be opened"

The M3U URL was pasted with a missing character or an extra space. Copy it again from your email. Also make sure a firewall or antivirus is not blocking VLC's network access, and try the link in a browser: it should download a small .m3u file.

Channels stutter or buffer every few seconds

Run a speed test: you need 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Close downloads and video calls, connect the PC by Ethernet, and in VLC raise Network caching to 3000 ms. In IPTV Smarters Pro switch the player under Settings โ†’ Player Selection. More tips in fix IPTV buffering.

The EPG guide is empty

With Xtream Codes login open Settings โ†’ EPG and click Update EPG. With M3U you must add the EPG URL from your welcome email. VLC does not display an EPG at all; use IPTV Smarters Pro or MyIPTV Player if you need the guide. Details: IPTV EPG not working.

Video plays but there is no sound or the audio is out of sync

In VLC choose Audio โ†’ Audio Track and select a different track, or press J and K to adjust the audio delay. In IPTV Smarters Pro pick another player under Settings โ†’ Player Selection. Update your sound drivers if the issue affects all apps.

The Microsoft Store cannot find IPTV Smarters Pro

Change the Store region under Settings โ†’ Time & language โ†’ Region, or download the desktop installer from the official IPTV Smarters website. MyIPTV Player and VLC are alternatives available everywhere.
