Watch IPTV on iOS and tvOS with IPTV Smarters Pro, GSE Smart IPTV or VLC: an app comparison, setup summary, AirPlay tips, and how to get 4K and 50fps sport on Apple TV.
Everything comes from the App Store, no sideloading. Add your IPTV-6 login and watch 25,000+ channels with EPG on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV in about 3 minutes.
In this guide you will install an IPTV player from the App Store, add your IPTV-6 details with Xtream Codes or an M3U URL and load the EPG guide. It takes about 3 minutes on iPhone and iPad and 5 minutes on Apple TV. No jailbreak, profile or sideloading is needed.
On iPhone and iPad we recommend IPTV Smarters Pro: it is free, supports Xtream Codes and M3U, includes the VOD library, catch-up and a full EPG. GSE Smart IPTV is a solid free alternative with more playback options. On Apple TV we recommend iPlayTV, a paid tvOS app with a beautiful guide, picture-in-picture and Siri Remote support. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad, tap Search and type "IPTV Smarters Pro". Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password. The app is free. When the download finishes tap Open. If you prefer GSE Smart IPTV, search for it the same way; the login steps are similar.
Accept the terms of use. On the welcome screen tap Login with Xtream Codes API. This is the method we recommend because it loads your live channels, movies, series and the EPG guide together, without any extra links.
Open your welcome email in Mail, copy each value and paste it into the app:
your_usernameyour_passwordhttp://url-here.com:port: http://your-server-url (include the port if your email shows one)Tap ADD USER. The channel list downloads in 10 to 30 seconds and the app opens on its dashboard.
If you want to use M3U instead, tap Load Your Playlist or File/URL on the welcome screen, select M3U URL, enter a name and paste the M3U link from your email. Then go to Settings โ EPG and paste the EPG URL so the guide is filled in. In GSE Smart IPTV, open the side menu, tap Remote Playlists โ + โ Add M3U URL and paste the link there.
On the Apple TV open the App Store, search "iPlayTV" and buy it with your Apple ID. Open the app, choose Add Playlist and select Xtream Codes API (or M3U if you prefer). Type http://your-server-url, your_username and your_password; using the Apple TV Remote app on your iPhone makes typing much faster. Tap Save and wait while iPlayTV imports the channels and EPG. IPTV Smarters Pro is also available on tvOS if you want a free option.
In IPTV Smarters Pro tap EPG on the dashboard to see the guide. Tap the star icon on any channel to add it to Favourites. In iPlayTV swipe down while watching to see the programme guide and press and hold the touch surface to add a favourite. If the guide is empty, open Settings โ EPG and tap Update EPG.
Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPad, tap Screen Mirroring and select your Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV. IPTV Smarters Pro also has an AirPlay icon in the player. For the best quality on a TV, install iPlayTV or IPTV Smarters Pro directly on the Apple TV rather than mirroring.
Pasting from Mail sometimes adds a space at the end of a value. Delete it and check that the server URL starts with http:// and includes the port if your email shows one. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Check our status page if everything looks correct.
Test your speed with a speed test app: you need 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi or vice versa, disable Low Data Mode under Settings โ Wi-Fi โ your network, and close other apps. Full list of fixes: IPTV buffering.
In IPTV Smarters Pro open Settings โ EPG and tap Update EPG. With an M3U playlist you must add the EPG URL from your welcome email. If times are shifted, adjust the EPG time shift in the same menu. See IPTV EPG not working.
Check each field for typos; on the Siri Remote it is easy to select the wrong character. Try the M3U URL method if Xtream Codes fails and make sure the Apple TV is not on a restricted guest network.
Some streams block mirroring. Use the AirPlay icon inside the player instead of screen mirroring, or install the app directly on the Apple TV.
